In August 2024, I had the privilege of sitting down with Ted Fawm for a short documentary about his family’s rich history in horse racing across Southwestern Ontario and northern USA. Ted’s stories were filled with warmth, humour, and a deep connection to the traditions that shaped his life. Sadly, just two months later, in October 2024, Ted passed away.

Reflecting on his passing, I am reminded of the profound value in capturing these historically focused stories. The videos I have been producing over the years serve as a living archive, preserving voices, memories, and histories that might otherwise fade with time. As generations pass and memories dim, these recordings become cherished legacies for families, communities, and future historians alike.
This spring, in 2025, Ted’s story will have its premiere screening in support of the Stratford & District Historical Society. It is a fitting tribute not only to Ted’s life but also to the countless untold stories that remind us of the strength, resilience, and character of our communities.

As we celebrate the power of storytelling and honour a remarkable man whose legacy will continue to inspire. Stay tuned for details about the premiere and how you can support the Stratford & District Historical Society’s important work.
Let us remember: every story shared is a history preserved.
